new work by Dana Alex King
Dana Alex King is a multimedia artist whose current practice is focused on poetry, photography, papermaking, and painting. Motivated by curiosity and empathy, they find their inspiration in the spaces where internal and external landscapes meet. As an artist living with an invisible disability, Dana makes work that interrogates intersections of history, text, power, and pain and that considers the subversive natures of humor, healing, and pleasure. Dana has shown and published work nationally and internationally and has taught courses and workshops in book arts for the Universityof Iowa Center for the Book, the University of Iowa International Writing Program’s Summer Youth Program, Public Space One, and Cellar Press. Currently based in Iowa City, Dana loves every wolf and dog.
